Pacific Gateway Marina Revitalization Project in Port Renfrew

At J.E. Anderson & Associates’ (JEA) Victoria office, both the surveyors and engineers have been working on the Pacific Gateway Marina project, owned by the Mill Bay Marina Group, in Port Renfrew.

Port Renfrew Revitalization Project

Two hours west of Victoria, Pacific Gateway Marina is planned as a year-round fishing-based marina located on the West Coast of Vancouver Island, near prime fishing locations. Construction of a year-round marina involves improving the site with extended breakwaters and an increased number of boat slips and storage facilities, in addition to road infrastructure improvements.

Construction of the marina broke ground in March. J.E. Anderson’s legal surveyors have provided legal boundary survey services on this project, while the civil engineering division provided road design and infrastructure services. J.E. Anderson’s surveyors will also be providing construction survey services as construction continues.

“This is an exciting project to be a part of,” says Colin Grover, Land Surveyor at J.E. Anderson. “It will provide a big boost for Port Renfrew in terms of tourism and supporting local businesses, and gives fishermen a more permanent place to keep their boats.”

This is one of three revitalization projects that J.E. Anderson’s team is working on in Port Renfrew. As an active part of that community, the company recently joined the Port Renfrew Chamber of Commerce in support of other businesses in the area.
