July 31, 2014JE Anderson’s Victoria office has been working with the Tsartlip First Nation in Brentwood Bay to build a new gas station and convenience store, anticipated to open this summer. The Victoria office’s team of professional engineers and surveyors conducted the legal survey of the site, as well as created the civil engineering design, which includes site grading and servicing of the gas station.
“This is an important step in the economic development for the Tsartlip First Nation,” says JE Anderson’s Ross Tuck. “We like helping First Nations make positive steps like this toward economic development.”
The Tsartlip First Nation has around 1,100 members. The contractor hired to build the gas station and store has a mandate to use labour from the Tsartlip community, and the gas station and convenience store will provide up to a dozen jobs.
